The 67CEOs Foundation will organise its 4th Global Entrepreneurship Week - GEW in South Africa from 16 till 21 November 2020. The programme is themed: Advancing SMME Support - Survive & Thrive. Traditionally, GEW is a one-week in-person event, however, it is understandable that times are different, therefore this year’s programme will be completely virtual.
More than ever before SMMEs need the support of all business development ecosystem stakeholders to survive the indelible impact of COVID19 pandemic and thrive beyond the crises. Many of the businesses 67CEOs Foundation supports have remained sustainable before the global pandemic outbreak, currently, they are facing new challenges that require ‘new normal’ solutions.
During the virtual event, SMME owners across South Africa will participate in masterclass sessions on how to effectively implement a digital marketing strategy to remain relevant and sustainable. Sessions start at 9H00 until 11H00 daily. The theme was selected as a result of disruptive innovations which are transforming South Africa’s economic potential, creating new target markets and unprecedented consumer choice.
Exxaro Resources has partnered with 67CEOs Foundation during GEW in 3 consecutive years - 2018, 2019 and 2020. GEW2020 will focus on providing relevant skills, innovative capacity building, digital marketing strategy masterclass and access to grant funding to SMMEs. The participating SMMEs from Limpopo and Mpumalanga will stand the chance to win grant funding of R200,000 in total.
Only Limpopo and Mpumalanga based entrepreneurs are eligible to submit pitch videos. Immediately after the masterclass, entrepreneurs in Exxaro host communities will submit a 120 seconds video online using #67CEOsGEW2020 and #PoweringPossibility across major social media platforms and WhatsApp. Independent adjudicators will announce winners and they will be notified by email. 6 winners will be selected, 3 SMMEs per province.
Admission to the events is free; delegates are invited to register on www.67ceos.org.
