Mining indaba 2018 - day 4 final wrap-up

Mining indaba 2018 - day 4 final wrap-up

The past four days at the Mining Indaba have been busy, intense, and phenomenally valuable from a learning perspective. And that is a good thing! Regardless of who you are, what you do for a living, what your position is, and level of expertise: you should always want to learn new things. It is how we progress, advance, grow and stay relevant – as people and companies.

Sometimes this process requires one to unlearn what one has learned in the past. This was one of the key messages of my interview with Katlego Letsoalo, Vice-Chairperson of the Young Professionals Council (SAIIM).

Learning is key when you want to evolve, grow, and stay relevant. Just because you have done certain things for the past 30 years in a certain way doesn’t mean your strategy will work tomorrow. To shape your future, you will have to evaluate the past and the present and immerse yourself in the future. You’ll need to adopt a mindset of wanting to discover what you don’t know yet – and do this over and over. That is what Exxaro is all about. Here is to our future!
