Exxaro’s performance for the 2024 financial year demonstrated resilience and continued operational excellence. Our net cash position increased to R16.3bn (excluding Energy’s net debt) by the end of 2024, compared to R14.8bn at the end of 2023. As such the Board resolved to embark on a share repurchase programme of R1.2 billion subject to the prevailing market conditions and JSE Listings Requirements. The Board approved a gross final cash dividend of R8.66 per share, for the year ended 31 December 2024. Exxaro’s Belfast Digital and Connected Coal mining operation, in collaboration with Mohlaloga Investment Group recently donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Emakhazeni Local Municipality for distribution to 17 schools to help keep learners safe. The donation included 225 litres of hand sanitiser; 650 litres of dilutable bleach; and 250 litres of hand soap to help schools to clean and disinfect surfaces and maintain hand hygiene. Exxaro’s belfast coal mine celebrates its safety record - 500 days without a lost time injury

Building on its commitment to workplace safety, January marks a proud milestone for Exxaro Resources’ modern digital and connected mine - Belfast Coal in Mpumalanga, which has recorded 500 days free of workplace injuries.  The newly constructed Belfast Coal Mine started producing high grade thermal coal six months earlier than expected on 12 September 2019. “We completed 2021 without a lost time injury (LTI), which is a remarkable achievement. We are grateful that our employees and contractors could return to their loved one’s injury free,” said Belfast mine Business Unit Manager, Londolani Rampfumedzi. The Belfast team has maintained an overall Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.00, above its target of 0.08.
