Exxaro and Transnet Freight Rail sign service agreement

Exxaro Resources Limited (Exxaro) and Transnet SOC Ltd (Transnet), acting through its Operating Division, Transnet Freight Rail (TFR), are pleased to announce that they have entered into a formal service agreement regarding performance in terms of the existing Long-Term Agreement between the parties. The agreement reached between Exxaro and Transnet is in the best interest of Transnet, Exxaro and South Africa. In terms of this agreement, Transnet and Exxaro will collaborate to improve the performance of its logistics channels, including to contribute to Exxaro’s Leeuwpan mine turnaround plan announced recently.

The group reported an increase in revenue of 8% to R20.6 billion for the six-month period ended 30 June 2025 compared to R19 billion for the six-month period ended 30 June 2024 (1H24).

Exxaro delivers on guidance, achieving exceptional export performance, improves safety performance, and maintains superior shareholder returns

Exxaro’s performance for the 2024 financial year demonstrated resilience and continued operational excellence. Our net cash position increased to R16.3bn (excluding Energy’s net debt) by the end of 2024, compared to R14.8bn at the end of 2023. As such the Board resolved to embark on a share repurchase programme of R1.2 billion subject to the prevailing market conditions and JSE Listings Requirements. The Board approved a gross final cash dividend of R8.66 per share, for the year ended 31 December 2024. Additionally, the Board approved a R1.2 billion share repurchase programme, subject to prevailing market conditions and JSE Listings Requirements.

Appointment of Ben Magara as new chief executive officer of Exxaro

Following an expedited and targeted selection process, the board of directors of Exxaro (“Board”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Bennetor (“Ben”) Magara as the incoming CEO, effective 1 April 2025. Ben will succeed Acting CEO, Mr Riaan Koppeschaar, who will continue in his role as Finance Director.Ben is a qualified Mining Engineer and highly regarded mining veteran with over 35 years’ industry experience in both soft and hard rock mining at underground and open pit operations. EXXARO PARTNERS WITH DIS-CHEM PHARMACY TO VACCINATE EMPLOYEES

Black empowered mining company, Exxaro Resources, recently partnered with Dis-Chem to vaccinate its employees, contractors, and their next of kin at the Exxaro head office, the conneXXion. As at 15 October - the partnership began in August 2021 and has seen over 570 people receive the vaccination through the partnership thus far. General Manager - Safety and Health at Exxaro, Dr Joseph Matjila expressed his excitement to this partnership by saying that “to reach herd immunity has to do with partnerships, not just between business and government but between business and business. The health of our people and citizens, is a responsibility that sits on us all and not just our government health department.” According to the Minerals Council South Africa (MCSA), 41% of mining employees are partially/fully vaccinated.
